The United Arts Council Arts Integration Institute
Mimi designs and directs arts integration institutes with some of the best teaching artists in the country. Teachers emerge from these institutes with the skills and confidence to integrate the arts with every area of the curriculum, practical lesson plans they can use immediately, and a renewed love of teaching.  At the United Art Council Arts Integration Institute, teachers and administrators spend a week dancing, writing, performing, and making music and art with nationally-acclaimed teaching artists, as they learn how to integrate the arts into their schools.

Subs with SuitCASES
From the stage, page and studio into the classroom, artists of all kinds learn how to bring their skills into the classrooms as topnotch substitute teachers - complete with old-fashioned Mary Poppins suitcases full of magical arts supplies. Mimi consulted with the Penland School of Crafts to design and direct this innovative program which brings area artists into the schools to share the arts with students from kindergarten to grade twelve.

North Carolina Poetry Out Loud Program
This national poetry recitation competition for high school students is sponsored by the National Endowment for the Arts, the Poetry Foundation and state arts agencies across the country. As North Carolina Poetry Out Loud Coordinator from 2006 through 2011, Mimi designed and coordinated a program that engaged almost 10,000 students in the delights of poetry.
